It wasn’t love at first sight, and their story didn’t begin in high school. They met briefly at school although it skipped Francisco’s mind that he had seen her before. Their social circles brought them together, and they eventually started to spend time together.

Their friendship kindled and their attraction for one another inevitable. Two kindred spirits also served their church and the more time they spent together, the deeper the love bloomed. They got to know each other’s dreams and ambitions after exchanging personal stories. Before time got caught up with them, Milca realized that Francisco was her best friend and dating became a journey to marriage six years later.

6 years of celebrating, growing together and going through life’s hurdles, they had a mutual (unspoken) notion that they were ready for the next chapter together. Francisco planned a dinner for Milca along with his family. She assumed it was like a regular date they might enjoy being around loved ones that evening. She knew he was a bit off. From the start, he couldn’t hide his nerves. When they came around to pick up Milca, Francisco’s mother gifted her with a special memento. She accepted since only good things can come from mothers’ in law but still a little puzzled. They arrived not knowing that her life was going to change that night. A little perplexed at the restaurant, Francisco’s demeanor changed even more, frequently going to the restroom throughout their dinner. She didn’t think much of it until Francisco started to let her know about all that she means to him. He praised her for her accomplishments and her loyal partnership all those years. He then asked to marry him, slightly shocked since there was no hint dropped, she obliged and said the beautiful ‘yes.’ It was a joyful moment and one that included his family.

Getting to meet Milca and Francisco plus her graceful mother was a sweet moment since we realized they knew a little bit more about me than I thought. Nevertheless, their hearts for family, precious wedding details and God showed through and through in each bilingual conversation. They chose beautiful lush San Francisco grounds as the backdrop of their story. Francisco admitted his slight unfriendliness to the camera but forgot all about that once Milca took his hand. Hardworking and devoted to one another, Milca and Francisco shared stories about their lives and her academic achievements while also planning her wedding. Francisco had his endeavors right after our session and didn’t show a worry or care while making Milca laugh and take a sigh or two. The oceans and the beautiful sunset we were gifted and the tall Eucalyptus trees were all but small details in comparison to their loving hearts. They glowed with more than affection for one another–it’s a story to be continued for ages.

Milca and Francisco, thank you for bearing a small part of your souls that Friday evening. There was romance, affection but more than anything there was love and a heavenly one crowning each smile and wink. We so enjoyed our impromptu hike and running on the hard sands just to see you two laugh. We cannot wait for July.
