2016 Year in Review

Brace yourselves this is a long one…

We’ve done some pretty awesome things this year. We’ve served over 30 amazing new families and have been left completely changed by their view of the world, love, and life. From shooting under the Golden Gate Bridge on a rocking boat to the incredible Yosemite Mountains, to Calistoga caves and ranches, coasting in the Monterrey beaches, road-tripping to Big Sur, on top of Mount Tam East Peak, to going to downtown SF for spur of the moment elopements in City Hall, to watching two become one under the rain, headed to the airport to watch 2 families form one, from heading north to photogenic Napa wineries, and then traveling instantly to a piece of Greece right in SF, we were blessed to have gotten immersed in these one-of-a-kind moments with one-of-kind people. We realize that our job is a small tiny part of a wedding day, but it is one that leaves lasting rippling effects for a lifetime. We’re honored to work with some of the most amazing vendors in the industry in the Bay Area and get to call them friends but also beautiful clients who have forever touched our hearts with their stories.

We entered 2016 feeling hopeful, joyful and expectant for new and greater things.  We were left changed and sometimes floored by the beauty of this world. We didn’t meet all of our goals. Sometimes, Victor and I would lock ourselves for hours in our old Altima car talking about how we can be better. There were moments where the doctor delivered news that we thought would significantly affect our business but we found the strength to do better than we thought in spite. We’d run from appointment to appointment all over town and broke a few sweats while carrying rented back up gear. We spent long nights preparing equipment, timelines and triple checking last minute details for the next day. There were a couple of wedding days that we had family emergencies happen and Victor, and I remained calm being fully present focusing on not missing anything. Although there were moments I let doubt loom over my head and fear in my heart, I braved it, and Victor did too. We learned things we never could learn anywhere else, and we did it together. There were hysterical moments, tearful moments (good tears) and peaceful ones. We developed new rituals and surprised almost all of our brides on the day-of and seeing their faces was priceless.

With that said, we are eagerly expecting 2017 to be a wild one! One full of hope, love, prosperity, joy and more change. With the release of our new website pending, we are grateful to our supporters, family, friends, and clients. We have new people in our team whom without; we couldn’t have made it to the end. Thank you to Joy, our editor, who keeps us sane and to Tony, our brother, and assistant, who helps to drive, park, carry bags, set up, hold reflectors and sometimes even third shoot, thank you a million. Above anything else we feel grateful to our Creator, our awesome fountain of hope, the source of our creativity and ultimate muse, JAH.

Onto to our funny behind the scenes pictures! These pictures are most likely ones that are test shots and some just because. Enjoy!
