It was a match made heaven, Anali and Jose (or as he’s known to his close friends and family, Joe). They met miles away from home at a church conference in Arizona. After a few laughs (and some sighs) and exchange of words, they hit it off. They maintained their love affair for a while, but Joe couldn’t take the long distance between them anymore. He planned to pop the question on his scheduled visit that December, last year. Although, he had previously informed her friends and family of his planned intent, she had no clue that her life was to change completely. After his carefully curated speech of how much she means to him, he asked her to be his wife. It wasn’t long until I received a sweet little message the following month on my availability to photograph their pending nuptials.

Anali’s vivacious personality makes anyone feel as if you’ve known her for decades. She knew that she wanted her engagement session held at the overlooked scenic Lake Chabot. Having never been there, Victor and I took off to scout the place with our recently adopted puppy Sonny. Overarching trees, meadow paths, sunset by the lake, what more could I ask? After our failed attempt to hike the entire perimeter, we were confident that we had this in the bag.

Even though she knew the area perfectly well, it was as if we created even more memories with them the further we went on the trail. I learned about her persistence and determination by how long she waited to have the dress and how it was worth every cent. I learned about how much she loves Joe by the way she told us how she’s going miles away to be a nurse in New Mexico, where she plans to reside with her beau. I had no doubt that their love story was one that was pre-written in the stars.
