Deer Park Villa, Fairfax Wedding: Sarah & Wes

Sarah and Wes made their travels from their new home in Arizona back to the Bay Area to host the event of their dreams. Life changed drastically in the months before with their move across the state and with the sudden passing of Wes’s mother. In every moment, from the beginning of the day to the celebration at the end of the night, she was remembered and commemorated. Sarah got ready in the majestic Casa Madrona in Sausalito while Wes along with his friends dressed up in a private home. This was long awaited and planned with the only intent of celebrating a new season in their lives and to honor the journey before.

They had a first look to be able to share a private moment before the big event. Tough act to follow, but the ceremony was even more special. One of the dearest and most intimate we’ve witnessed. Not because of the guest count or because of the new twists incorporated but because Sarah’s mother officiated. Every word she spoke was like a humble secret she revealed from Sarah and Wes’s life together. Their quirks, a few of their memories and how much they leaned on one another especially during their months of planning. It was a soulful ceremony full of tender thoughts, sweet tears, and some laughter because Sarah’s and Wes’s joy radiated through. After the tying of the hands and breaking of the glass, everyone present broke out in a ‘Mazel-Tov!’ Eliciting a huge cheer and Sarah and Wes embracing in a kiss.

There were so many words to be shared. So many people that were truly there to support them and cheer them, many of which shared fond memories with them. Sarah was so eager to greet everyone and to make sure that they were enjoying themselves. Wes didn’t stop smiling, and even when there were moments of silence and maybe a twinkle of a tear, he bared a smile knowing that his mother was there. Sarah’s and Wes’ were one of the couples that first introduced to us to a fandom of Game of Thrones. There were touches and details that would make Daenerys and Targaryens really proud. The night finished with the traditional Havila Nagila and rounds of drinks and dancing. The crown jewel of it all was seeing Sarah and Wes fully present in each moment.

Sarah and Wes, we wish we could take you out to coffee again if only Scottsdale weren’t so far! We feel so blessed having been part of this special day. We were moved by the many times that your guests spoke of you and how your mother married you. We also place a little blame on you on our summer GOT binge! We love you two!
