This photoshoot was an incredible experience. This was my 4th time photographing this mother-daughter duo and it was a ‘just-because-shoot’. Aside from the many life endeavors and celebrations, there was no particular milestone they were celebrating other than appreciating life.
Sachary (the mom) was a young mom, and as her best friend, I found myself very touched by many of the moments in this short gallery. I’ve been privy to their achievements, their nuances, and their seasons of growth. Life has thrown them many curveballs from being separated while Sachary worked different jobs in the U. S. while Ashley went to school in Nicaragua. It was in 2014 when they were reunited again at a tearful meeting in the airport.
When Ashley contacted me expressing interest in a portrait here in our studio, I knew we had to make special, possibly Vanity Fair style (my favorite). We drew inspiration from blush tones and created a monochromatic look. We incorporated some dried hydrangeas from our little planter box and just styled them with fabrics and some of our dresses from our studio. They were queens for the day and had a red-carpet photo shoot experience!
