It was a day like no other a few years ago. Almost like yesterday. It was almost like it was planned with mutual friends involved. They met at the beach where the day started bright, and it ended in a casual dinner with everybody. They had exchanged so many thoughts, ideas and plans that it was almost hard to separate from each other that evening. But fate had other plans for them, and they found each other again but in no California, in Las Vegas of all places. Coincidentally, Jenn had traveled for a different event and Gilberto had as well. After continuing their conversation, they rekindled the flame on the dance floor and were smitten with each other ever since.

Five years passed of so many happy memories, from travel all over to local adventures. Their affection for another grew deeper founded on the friendship that started it all. In 2016 they both set a trip to Jamaica for a little Caribbean bliss and some R&R. Gilberto was determined to make it more than a memorable adventure, but to make it into the one that would open up the next adventure of a lifetime. During sunset, Gilberto picked the most scenic spot and proposed to Jen. She couldn’t believe that this would be such crowning moment and surreal with the rosy glow of the sunset giving it’s warm blessing to the two of them.

We connected through our mutual friend’s wedding last May and had taken their portrait together during the quick cocktail hour. Knowing that Gilberto is a former classmate, definitely upped the ante for me like previously. Victor and I knew that we wanted to make this so memorable to bring the coastal elements that brought so many memories for them. So we photographed their session 2 parted. The first time we scheduled their engagement session, the blue angels were in town (or flying over town) that we encountered some severe traffic delays to get to our second beach location. Jenn was kind enough to arrange another date, and we went to a beach that brought many memories for her from her childhood, but this time with her future husband. It was a warm December day with a little wind, and we chased the sunset on the cliffs of the Marin beach. We were so happy to have captured this for them in homage to their story together.

Jenn and Gil, we have no doubt that your wedding day, which is quickly approaching will be one that many friends and family have been waiting for. Undoubtedly as they cheer you on to this next chapter of your life, we will too
