Redwood City Engagement: Rachael & Steve

ice rink engagement, hockey, brewery, beer, engagement , beer garden, redwood cityIt was a happy hour. Rachael had a long day at work, and she went to the downtown area of San Jose to lounge and unwind. Steve had similar plans, and they bumped into each other at the bar. Picture it; typical boy meets girl, they talked, had a drink, laughed and for just a moment forgot about their cares. Rachael was intrigued, and Steve was smitten. When it was time for each to go their own way, they decided to exchange numbers. Both of their phones’ battery were off and they resorted to the old-fashioned way of writing each other’s phone number down on a napkin.

After years of dates, drinks, and hockey in the rink, and a pup later, Steve knew that it was time to put a ring on it. They had both taken a trip up north of the Golden Gate Bridge in his cherry red 1977 BWM to the Marin Headlands. He knew he wanted it to be epic, and the view from up there over the City would be the final touch. Rachael had assumed this was just one of their road trips, but little did she know that it was the trip that would change her life. They arrived, and they both got a good look and took a deep breath of fresh air. Steve leaned in with his affectionate gaze and asked Rachael to be his wife. Rachael said an ecstatic yes and came to know that everyone near and dear to her was in on it. They continued their trip up north to celebrate with wine in Napa.

Rachael planned her session to the nine. They wanted it to be personal and something that they both love to do. Being big hockey players and puppy parents, they knew that they wanted to incorporate the scene, their furry kids and their love of a good brew, a Weihenstephan brew. They kept it fun, wholehearted and unique. As we advanced to each area, they let us into their hearts, and we fell more in love with who they are as people and as a couple. Their generosity and welcoming hearts made Victor, and I feel as if we had known them from before. Sonny even got a little treat from Rachael. We are counting down the days for the epic Southbay affair and feel beyond grateful to be a part of their journey.
