They had made their travels all the way from the North. Far North. Canada North. They had a lapse of their career taken place in the Bay Area while Jessica was studying and Corbin was completing an internship in my hometown of San Rafael. They had a memorable season in the Bay Area, so naturally their spontaneous spirit led them to have a destination elopement back in the Frisco Bay. After years of stories and a Mexican puppy later, they tied the knot. Having both artistic backgrounds and Corbin’s photographic eye, they knew that the San Francisco City Hall was the intricate backdrop to adorn their love story.
They set off and had long flights, but they just arrived the day before their nuptials. Jessica was calmly excited (a paradox, I know) but she radiated with so much joy and grace as we climbed to the bright and majestic fourth floors. Corbin had a contagious smile and walked hand in hand with his lovely wife. The nuptials were short and sweet. Classic and true to their loving souls. Having a destination elopement meant that they had sweet ol’ me as their witness, and I relished with honor.
Jessica and Corbin married on my birthday linking us forever to the beautiful date of June 9th. As we parted ways, I felt I was given the greatest gift of crossing paths with them. It was as if we were long lost friends and we finally got in touch. My vegan ways resonated with Jessica and our love for our furry children was eminent on both sides. I greatly wish to one day have an invitation to photograph in Victoria BC not just for the sake of travel (which, let’s face it who wouldn’t want to visit Canada?) but for the sake of crossing paths with them yet again.
