Gratefulness. Our country has a whole day dedicated to it. A whole people celebrate it with an abundance of meals, preparation and stopping, if not for just a moment, to be with friends and family. I remember the day when our kindergarten teacher asked the group of 6-year-olds in her class, “What is your favorite Holiday?” Of course, without any hesitation the whole lot of them shouted Christmas and one even ventured by saying Easter. I guess I was the only one attuned to the festivities of Thanksgiving. Maybe it was because, I wasn’t used to the whole gift exchange by then or the fact that I couldn’t memorize carols quite well. Thanksgiving allowed me to say thank you for a hundred times a day with no shame. Don’t get me wrong, I give thanks on all the other days, but it’s this one-day where maybe more people are aware of the abundance around us. In the spirit of this day and last year’s declaration here are few things I’m grateful for.
- The amazing people I’ve met this year. I met incredible and talented photography teachers who have selflessly given a piece of themselves to the photog community and have place #communityovercompettition
- My clients. All of them in their unique personalities and details of their love stories have been entrusted in my smaller-than-average hands.
- My puppy Sonny. This year he has brought so much joy and happiness to our home. He constantly greets us with eagerness and love.
- My supportive family. My little brother’s continuous shout outs in social media, my little brother’s prayers for our business, and my parents who continue to believe in this dreamer-of-a-daughter.
- My colleagues, friends in the industry who have stopped for a second to comment, like and congratulate me on a job well done. Some of who, help bring food to our table by referring to us amazing couples.
- My friends (you know who you are), who continually check in to see if I’m still sane after days of silence. You’re always in my thoughts and heart.
- For every person who creates content and I just so happen to stumble across your creative genius. I aspire to be just as a blessing to others just as you have to me.
- My church. For the constant spiritual push to be better than yesterday. For being a community going after the same thing and creating an environment where I can continually grow.
- My husband. Victor. I have no words. Because even as I type this part, I can’t. Tears overwhelm me. Thank you, babe, for your undying support, daily affection and being such a pillar. Te amo.
- JAH. He gives me dreams and stamina to make it happen.
Thank you to each and every one of my readers. Even though, there not hundreds, you value what I have to say and for that I’m eternally grateful.
Happy Thanksgiving!
