Their first date was a road trip. A trip to start a life of endless adventures together– also, a precursor to their short future ahead. She was from Baltimore, and he was from the south formerly a bullpen catcher for the Orioles team. Their lives couldn’t be any more different and physically apart but somehow, when they met the second time it just made sense to be together.
They chose Vintner’s Inn as the place for the long-awaited nuptials. Although, hundreds of miles away, family from across the country flew in to witness the sunset blessed promise Julie and Ronnie would make to each other. Julie having been a bridesmaid 17 times opted to go in untraditional ways. It was just the two of them, with the officiant on the altar and no one else. Their parents walked them in, with a grin that could win a world series and a joy that could overwhelm the clouds full of rain away. It’s all about love, the officiant recounted. It’s encircling and always starts with no end she said. With glistening tears in their eyes, Ronnie promised her the world and Julie reciprocated with a giggle and a sigh. As they married each other and sealed it with a kiss, their 50-something guests all stood up cheering for the couple, resembling a stadium full of fans when a double home run is hit.
There was an abundance of love in the room for the two of them. It felt as if I was a part of a huge group of friends that evening. Although, I was capturing their every moment, I felt welcomed so much that Julie invited me to a glass of champagne and cupcake. Although there was a struggle, I eventually gave in to the cupcake! (Guilty as charged)
Julie and Ronnie, your day unfolded beautifully and seamlessly. Your family and friends are what anybody wishes to have in this lifetime, and I couldn’t be any happier to capture your smiles, blissful stares, and your adventurous selves. Thank you for the cupcake and for savoring each moment so graciously. Julie, I have no doubt that you and Ronnie will see the world and will scatter your love wherever you go.
So grateful to work with some of my talented friends…
