The highly acclaimed New York Fashion week numero 2 is happening, displaying the epitome of American style for Fall. I couldn’t help but be inspired and share some insight on engagement session style. Even though it’s predicted for Western style and pussy-bow blouses to be in full trend throttle for the upcoming months, I figured why not say what remains classic and trendless for engagement sessions? We love to guide our fabulous clients on how best prepare for their engagement session and here’s a little something for her.

One thing we love is movement. Movement in poses, natural gestures and most of all, garments. If the frock can move with each change, it shows subtleties of realness and something different in each frame. Dresses that move gracefully with the wind or as he twirls your hand in the attempt to spin you for a playful capture lending a beautiful and honest photograph of you. There is a reason why celebrities are always showing off their timelessness in dresses on the red carpet and not as many pantsuits. Rachel Zoe even trended the famous ‘hero dress’ term in her description of the ‘ultimate dress’ for each starlet she dressed. What do red carpets and engagement sessions have in common? Well, they’re both highly photographed. These pictures forever loom in web history, or in engagement session relativity, family history.

We love the juxtaposition between free-flowing dresses against the natural surroundings in the backdrop. We love structured dresses wit a hint of personality in an urban setting and classic lace shapes in ‘old world’ buildings. Maybe you don’t dress up, or maybe you do, whatever the case maybe this is the perfect excuse to rent a dress maybe or go shopping? My favorites are dresses with volume, the waist showed off, and timeless palates. I promise Audrey and Grace Kelly would agree! I wholeheartedly believe that yes, you are the celebrity and the world should know how graceful and timeless you are.
