A couple of years ago, when Victor had the incredible opportunity to travel to Guatemala (his home country) for the first time in 10 years, I had a real scary thought. I thought, what if I left my cushiony legal job and just dedicated myself to my craft? It was surreal because I always dreamt but never did I think it actually would happen. 2015 was a year that was unexpected. Yes, I admit I totally revved like any old engine starting again at the beginning, and it totally sped off. Now entering our fourth year of capturing love stories, I feel like I could set the bar even higher. I owe it all to my SL brides and clients. They are my inspiration. Hearing their stories and translating that through the lens is my cloud 9. I love that I get to see and know intimate details, personal scares, and triumphs. There are so many things that come about with wedding planning. It’s a culmination and a beginning of seasons. I’m honored to witness that transition. You know, the one transition when you quickly catch the scent of the fall season with the heat of summer. It’s the subtle nuances, the intricate details, and changes that make for a story with a deeper meaning.
Our hearts this year is to continue capturing life-long memories. We long to be the ones who witness the miracle of life and encapsulate in a gem that will last forever. You see as cheesy as this might sound, we don’t really serve our brides and grooms. You read that correctly. We actually serve the grandchildren, the kids, the generation that will come after the monumental moment of a wedding. This is all for them. We hope and aim to have photographs be the tangible evidence of their heritage and the legacy they were born into.
So here’s to 2016. A year full of promise, growth, happiness, transition, and love. A lot of love.
