The New Year feel lingered as Carisa prepared for her big day. In typical Carisa-fashion, she was eager, smiling and slightly nervous before the moment she would say, ‘I do’. Her vibrant fuchsia details with accents of mint and gold were the perfect trio of colors to describe Carisa and Rene. Together they laugh endlessly and are a wonderful duo. Although, at times their quiet and pensive moments come about, they are classy and timeless people with big hearts.
It was a beautiful moment, something that can’t quite be transcribed into words or even pictures. The doors opened, and there Carisa was accompanied by her life-long pastor ready to tread the aisle. She walked in with a touching recording of her dad singing. He passed away, but Carisa and Rene made sure he was present through these thoughtful details. His seat was decoratively reserved, and he was remembered through the opening comments of her pastor. Carisa and her mother were overcome by the special moment to give her away to the man of her dreams, Rene. I had to pull away for a second to gather myself because no one else could be more deserving of this grand and stunning moment than Carisa.
We were almost swept away in the celebration of their love and time did not wait. I made sure I could tear them away from their guests to be able to have a moment just for the two of them. Dusk slowly settled, and the vibrant lights of the Pleasanton downtown area lit up the streets. As they made their way with me, people on the street congratulated them and cars honked in celebration. It’s as if this new year, their first day as husband and wife, was more than just a day; it was a beginning, a new season and the start of a love that will surpass time.
Carisa and Rene, I can’t quite describe what an honor it was to be there on your day. Every detail and gesture of your kind hearts was visible and celebrated through the guests and congregation members you call family. Although, I was behind the lens, I also celebrate you and everything that JAH has in store for you. Thank you.
