Iron Horse Vineyards, Sebastopol Engagement: Isobel & Elliot

It was a few years ago when Elliot first laid eyes on Isobel. There wasn’t a beat to be missed and no second longer could pass by when Elliot decided to make his move. He knew he had to meet her. It was like the lyrics of a song or a really good sitcom scene.

She was out with her friends and dressed to impress. She had only been admitted into the ‘dancing’ establishment for a few minutes until she got the tap on the shoulder. A bit puzzled she turned around and there he was, Elliot ‘patrolling’ the place and asked her to please step outside. She was a bit in disbelief but obliged, and she was escorted out, unable to return for the evening. They met again, and this time Elliot tried a different move and managed to get her digits. His swagger charm was all it took, and Isobel has been happily at his side since.

After years of adventuring, crossing oceans together, developing an excellent taste for wine and great eats and making memories together, Elliot decided to put a ring on it. He knew he couldn’t let a second go longer without having Isobel as his wife. It was Christmas day at her parents’ house. All of her family had gathered around the tree, exchanging presents and a few laughs. They were enjoying the Holiday bliss after a couple of months of hardships. Everyone received their merry gifts, but there was an unopened one remaining. Her brother passed it to her with a note that could only make sense to those who played a childhood game, which was one of the details that brought them together at first. Not realizing what was inside, she opened it and saw it was a ring, and then looking up she saw Elliot on one knee. Right there in front of everyone special to Isobel, they chose to do life together forever.

Isobel had us in mind after meeting them very briefly at her brother’s wedding. Once we met and talked about their engagement session, we knew they were high class and loved wine and all things bubbly. It took a little negotiating, but they made way from their social connections and secured the Iron Vineyards for their session. It was a Sunday morning, and the sun was still rising when we arrived. Everything was golden. The baby grapes were on the brink to bloom but expect to fully ripen by the time Isobel and Elliot marry. She made scones the night before and treated everybody for a little Sunday treat. We knew we lucked out with working with Isobel and Elliot as soon as we started to capture bits and pieces of their story. Elliot knew just what to say, and Isobel had the same ease and romantic flair that her brother Kenny did on his wedding day. The Vineyards were thousands of symmetrical rows but couldn’t compete with their hearts for one another. Isobel and Elliot have a way to invite you as if you’ve known them for ages.

We are so over the moon that we get to be with you on this small part of the planning journey, Izzy, and Elliot! We count with your tips for our Euro trip this year and can’t wait to see how Cazadero will look in the Fall. We are beyond grateful that we get to be the ones to capture your day and get to see the Moellers again. We know that no matter what details and selections are made, you two will be the stars with or no Meryl Streep 😉
