The beautiful Katherine and her beau Greg were the epitome of bliss basking under the warm sun on that pre-Valentine’s afternoon. Surrounded by other love stories taking place on the hot and crowded Crissy Fields by the shore of the blue San Francisco Bay, there was no doubt that they were smitten with each other. Kat locked her gaze on Greg as he wrapped her in his arms. They sighed and giggled in each capture making the scene a perfect fit for a Hepburn film.

In one of our sporadic moments of going to a picturesque spot, I asked Greg how did he do it–how did he propose. I knew Kat’s version from our meeting beforehand. It was clear he had put some thought into his proposal. On a late August day, near the Carmel Bay, Greg strategically selected a place with a divine view where he would ask THE QUESTION. To Kat, this was just one of their sightseeing hikes like any other. As they continued on their path nearing Greg’s pre-selected area with a view like no other, little did Kat know that they were about to embark on a journey for ages and ages to come. Once they hit the incognito ‘X’ marked spot, Greg recounted how much Kat meant to him and concluded with the unanticipated question of marriage. She quickly responded with a “yes!” Elated with joy, they briefly made their announcement and made their rounds in the East Coast to make their debut as an officially engaged couple.

Being that it was the day before Valentine’s Day, love was literally in the air as the session unfolded. Kat and Greg blended in among the crowds overlooking as the President took off in his chopper. Nevertheless, we continued documenting their love story, and they uniquely stood out embracing each other among the tourists. Their whirlwind of romance tale is one that was truly destined to be.
