Their first connection was an invisible one without as much as a palpable touch. Nevertheless, it was an unforgettable one as they agreed to have an unforgettable first date. Fast forward some time since and they were in Havana, Cuba for the first time together last year where Javier asked her to spend the rest of her life together with him. She without hesitation uttered, “yes.”
As their session with me slowly unfolded, we trotted the 3-mile perimeter of beautiful Lake Merritt at sunset. Beautiful Ivette braved out our long promenade in 4-inch heels giving Victor and me the grand tour of Oakland while Javier gave us a little history lesson on the area. Victor and I have been eyeing Oaktown as our next home-to-be– I can say that they had us at the diverse local dining spots around the neighborhood. Mia, their Chihuahua child, accompanied us on our grand-mini tour also making a debut in some of her parent’s portraits. Their love for one another and their town was eminent through each glance and how relaxed they were even when other onlookers attempted to make cameos.
We enjoyed getting to know them a little better as they plan to wed in the next couple months. I’m beyond thrilled to document their first day as husband and wife in the beautiful town of San Rafael. The countdown commences!
