She was working as the host, welcoming and smiling to everybody who came in with her usual kind and friendly flair. He would come in usually after his police shift with his buddies. It was unexpected, but they occasionally crossed glances to one another. They would talk for minutes when she had a moment to spare. He had a slight, shy demeanor, but there was definite interest from both sides. From many visits and working hours turned to one lucky date. She made the first move, and it didn’t take long for him to take a hint. One date and she was smitten, and he was hooked. It was there at Lucky Strike where fate struck, and they were inseparable ever since.As seasons in their lives passed, they shared an unforgettable season in their relationship. Life segued into one of the most beautiful moments of their human lives, the birth of their daughter Emma. She brought them closer as they prepared for her arrival and every day since she’s lit up their life even better than before. It was in one of those everyday moments that Steve chose to propose to Anne. She was busy in the kitchen writing and organizing in their calendar. Emma was playing, and the cat was lingering around. He cornered her, and as she opened her lovely brown eyes, Steve asked her to marry her, just a few days after Thanksgiving. Without a doubt and in a heartbeat, Anne said ‘yes!’ It was a moment that became even more special. Special because it was them, in their home, with their daughter, their kitty and with Christmas just around the corner.

They told us they were getting married at the Marin Art and Garden Center and we were hooked right from her first message to us. Photographing at the place that hosted our own wedding celebration is more than an honor; it’s a dream being able to see it from the other side. We met at Mount Tam where the sky was crisp, and the light was golden. The views and the lush green paths were the backdrops, and Anne was a doll as she snuggled into Steve’s arms. It didn’t take much to make them laugh and for her to give me a gaze that tugged my heart through and through. It was an epic session with people that have the biggest hearts. As we walked back to our cars parked near the edge of a cliff, Steve gifted us with a present full of self-care goodies. I almost teared up because after having a full day of errands and preparing and then shooting, it was a sign from Heaven that we are blessed. Blessed to know Anne and Steve and blessed to be a small part of their journey to be wedded.

Anne and Steve, we have no words. You’ve connected with us in a way that human beings rarely connect. We love your love for one another and your love for Emma. She is truly who we want to serve at the end of the day. We hope that she can hold these pictures in her grown up hands one day and say ‘they’ve still got it!’ Thank you, Anne and Steve! Can’t wait for your big day!
