They came back. Back to where Daniel grew up to be wedded. They knew this was a special occasion where all of their near and dears could witness. The travel, the rain, the last minute plan changes didn’t matter. What meant more than anything was to have their loving families present in their commemoration of their love story.
Their friends and families had arrived. The rain did not subside as desired, but everyone gathered happily around the Chuppah for their ceremony. It was evident that Shauna wore her heart on her sleeve as she recited her vows to Daniel, promising forever and whatever comes they’d be together. Daniel exchanged the sentiment and also promised to be hers always. They leaned in for the first kiss as husband and wife and the whole room broke out in applauses and cheers just after Daniel broke the glass.
Their love of animals, sports team and their free spirits was expressed in small and grand details. Old movie reels leaned against the stone fireplace, and every centerpiece had a theme. Shauna strapped on some boots and ventured with her love to greet the rain and to let it all in, while also having us capture it. Their impromptu destination wedding became one that was adorned and incredibly blessed by the guests who made the journey with showers of love that poured from each of them.
Everyone had a story about them to share. Shauna’s best friend, Taylor, narrated Daniel and Shauna’s first meeting after just connecting online. Her protective instinct at the time encouraged her to accompany Shauna on their first date while keeping an eye on Daniel from afar. Daniel’s best friend cunningly gave wise words on marriage and had the whole room in laughter and some even tears. They toasted the night away dancing while indulging on some sweets. Everyone was celebrating Shauna and Daniel in their new adventure. The most precious moment of all, when each of the grandmothers watched them dance as husband and wife.
