Point Reyes Engagement Session: Sarah & Wes

Though their introduction to each other was an instant and brief one online, they found to have probably met in past lives before.
It’s one of those human connections you rarely make in a moment. All it took were few moments to fall in love. It felt familiar and comfortable, it seems so easy to slip in and a love that you can’t picture life without. That is Sarah and Wesley. They were meant-to-be even before meeting and their journey to be wedded started just a year and a half ago.

It was Thanksgiving evening. After a day of cooking and family reunion joy, they gathered around the table waiting to devour the delicious food sitting at the center of the table. Its salivating scent permeated the air, and everyone took turns. People expressed their gratitude and thank you’s. As the turns made way for Wes to express his gratefulness, he saw it as a perfect moment to not only put into words all that he was thankful for but to also ask Sarah a question. He segued from being grateful for the most beautiful person in his life; he then asked that very person to marry him. She was surprised and at the moment thought that everyone was in on it. After taking a short breath, she looked at him and said yes! It was the perfect appetizer for the next courses. It was the perfect way to start the Holiday season–unwrapping the start of the next chapter of their lives.

When we met with Sarah and Wes, they were on the brink of moving to Arizona. Sarah originally being from the Southwest was looking forward to being closer to her immediate family and for Wes to start a new adventure with her. Nevertheless, they decided on paying homage to the beginning of their love story by having their wedding in the Marin County area. We ventured out to Point Reyes to photograph a snippet of that story. Although the Point Reyes park rangers threw us a curve ball, we shifted gears to Heart Desire Beach to catch a softer side. They bay was calm, and their very understanding hearts were too throughout the session.

There were lush trees with Spanish moss, and a friendly Coyote greeted us. As we made our way up the hill and down, we learned of all of their new Arizona beginnings. Though they had many changes undergoing they were both well versed in Point Reyes coordinates and peaked our interest in driving out further than we’ve gone before. The St. Patrick’s evening concluded with a brisk walk on the beach and the soft light of twilight brimming over the waters.

Sarah and Wes, we are beyond over the moon for your summer day to be upon us. We know that just as your mother marries you, it will be more than a celebration but the change of seasons, and we’re honored to be a part of it. We can’t wait to see how much your puppies have grown by then, Sonny and Cher say ‘hello!’ Thank you for letting us be a part of your story!
