It was the start to a brand new day, a brand new season, a whole new life for Anali and Joe. The morning brought nostalgia, laughter, nerves and almost tears as it was mere minutes before Anali, and Joe exchanged vows. They had family that had come in from miles (and even hundreds of miles) away to witness the intimate occasion. There were loud stomps rushing as Anali, her bridesmaids and sweet family rushed to the church where she congregated ever since she was nine years old.
Everything had a meaning, from the pastors who married them, their friends and big families who celebrated every moment. As the nerves slowly settled, it was time for Joe to kiss his bride. It was the first kiss they’d ever share and all guests were eagerly anticipating this non-secretive moment, including their pastor who promised the guests a 30-minute kiss. Anali gracefully shied away, but Joe pulled her towards him with a passionate 15-second kiss. It was such an exciting moment that I bet even angels were entertained.
As they walked down the aisle, people who had witnessed their long-distance journeys, greeted the newlyweds with hugs and tears. The ambiance was full of happiness and gratefulness; there wasn’t a person who wasn’t wrapped up in the joyful wedding abyss. Everything about their day proclaimed who God is in their life. Every speech honored how Anali and Joe’s faith was an inspiration to many including me.
Anali and Joe, thank you for allowing me to witness a triumphant beginning to a love story of all ages. Your journey and relationship inspired such tenderness and honest emotions. May you share a life full of kisses, embraces and more love in New Mexico.
