The Truth about Working as Husband & Wife Team: Do we Talk about Our Clients?

It’s an unrefuted fact that any relationship will have their moments of disagreements, bliss, happiness, and quite often moments of nuances in between. Victor and I have had our fair share of moments we where don’t exactly see eye to eye, but we can always meet in the middle. It’s this thing called marriage you see. Now combine marriage and a working relationship and it becomes another tricky boat to navigate. Victor has more experience providing customer service more than 15 years, sometimes he sees things from a more traditional and brick and mortar standpoint. I come from a more right-brain perspective and I tend to have a whole flood of ideas constantly being on the prowl for fresh takes. So what do you get when you combine these two mindsets who service families? We grow. Continuously.

Almost every single shoot, project or wedding event we get to be a part of, where we’ll meet with our clients, we’ll take away something. Victor and I will converse about the shoot in itself afterward but we’ll also be struck with a story they told us or something that’s unique to them. Victor and I have found ourselves to highlight restaurants or events that take place in San Francisco or our hometown of San Rafael to clients. We love the exchange of experiences. We love to be inspired by their personal story and how they got to the Bay Area. Most of our clients are transplants, meaning they’ve moved from another place like Victor or they’ll be lifetime residents of the beautiful Northern California coast like me. We find that our client’s openness to us makes their shoot that much more precious to us. We see the personal, the small crevices of their heart that inspires our new insight.

We’re able to see new sights like Iron Horse Vineyards at sunrise or have gone to an amazing Greek restaurant, tasted Tapas in the South-bay after a long day of work, or just shared the sunset from a new vantage point in our backyard of Marin all because of you, our clients. Besides all these different senses, it reminds us that everyone has a story. A story infused with flavors, viewpoints, sounds, words anything that enhances that human experience of this thing called life. So when we’re walking with you on the beach, hiking to the next stop, holding your bouquet or hair, it comes from a deep place of love and appreciation to who you are and the beauty that you bring to the universe. We’ll live vicariously through your adventure and details of how beautiful life has unfolded and the fact that we get to capture of glimpse of that allure.

So, yes, we do talk about you. We’ll remember quirks, the funny and the moments of silence when it feels as if we were the only people in the universe. More than anything else, we take away a piece of your heart and present it back to you in a thing called “galleries.” So to our T&V Tribe thank you for making us a better team, for making our story a complete one with each take and for letting us into your world.A big thanks to Nicole and David Colwell for these photographs from our time in Paris. Looking forward to it again in the near future!
