They had probably passed each other a dozen times in the world famous Cal Berkeley campus. They both attended school around the same year only to not ever cross paths. Both being from SoCal and from Mexican backgrounds they found that they both had a lot in common and that they were somehow meant to be. Their first connection in-person was almost as instant as their online one previously. As Rafael, wrote, Coffee Meets Bagel was the cupid in the story and to date have yet to figure out who is the coffee and who’s the bagel.

Rafael had planned a rendezvous trip up north to get a taste of wine country (pun intended). The day was going perfectly as planned, but it went rather quickly unexpectedly. The weather was drastically changing, and the winds started blowing everything in its path. They decided to head home, and Rafael didn’t give up and decided that the ensuing day would be best. As it approached, he couldn’t wait any longer and started to narrate to Sarah a little bit of their journey and his love for her. He concluded with THE QUESTION, and Sarah said yes. They couldn’t wait too long and started planning their wedding within the same week.

As we walked around the campus, each building was beautifully maintained to its original structure also neighboring new and more modern buildings. Sarah had pre-selected the different areas for their session, and they were oh-so-worth it. We concluded in the newly renovated Materials Science & Engineering Department. A building that was off-limits to Rafael when he was majoring in Engineering at the time because of the long pause on the renovating projects. We had to be a bit sneaky, but Sarah and Rafael danced as if the whole world was their stage and took in this incredible moment realizing that they would exchange long and heartfelt vows in June.

Rafael and Sarah, I’ve said it once, but I’m so grateful for the two of you. To be part of this season is epic and again I feel so flattered that Rafael being a street photographer would be keen to my work! Thank you!
